| At an early age, Colleen's early artistic talents came into being with a box of 64 Crayola crayons. She then found herself winning awards for her work in high school which landed her as a fine arts major in college. It was there that she started to discover her love of another medium, makeup. At her "Makeup for Theatre" class, they invited the key makeup artist from the legendary Kabuki Theatre. He demonstrated the ancient art form of this makeup on one of the actual actors. Then as an excercise, the class had to follow the master and replicate the same makeup on a fellow student. This was only the begining of Colleen's master studies of her new canvas, the face. She ended up in Paris modeling , her face became the canvas. In her spare time she studied drawing of the masters at the Louvre. She then went into the design world as a textile/print designer where she was exposed to backstage frenzy of New York Fashion Week. Today, you can find Colleen working on some of the biggest shoots in the industry. She was chosen as one of the 10 member team to work the historic Fendi show at the Great Wall of China. The biggest highlight oh her career has been working backstage at the world's top fashion shows and shoots with her mentor, renowned makeup artist Dick Page. She credits him for reshaping her thinking and approach toward makeup. You can find her preparing some of the leading ladies in the music and fashion world as they get ready for the red carpet. Her work can be found in UK Harper's Bazaar, UK GQ, L'Officiel Hommes, ELLE, Pulp, DDD, Fiasco and Essential Hommes. She was recently featured as a contributor for "Ones2Watch". She has worked with photographers Niall O'Brien, Reed Krakoff, Trent Mcginn, Daniel King, Greg Sorensen, Melanie Dunea, Trevor Owsley and Annelise Phillips to name a few. Colleen currently resides in New York. |
